Rant: „lol“
Being active in a lot of things online, I do occasionally get emails from folks, asking if they can join some team, play on this or the other server, that sort of stuff.
What really irks me is when these emails contain random „lol„s inserted into the text. Why the heck are they doing that? „lol“ means „Laughing out Loud“. So imagine having them standing next to you, talking, and then suddenly out of nowhere, they laugh.
I know there is that fancy newfangled emoticon thingie. And that’s fine and dandy. I use them myself. But „lol“ or „LOL“ or even „LOLOLOLOMFG!!!11!!“ is insane and inappropriate. It just shows that the one who uses is is childish. I hate it with a passion, unlike l33t dudes, who most of the time are just annoying.
