Google is tracking me

Today, Google sent me that regular Latitude location history reminder. I took the opportunity to check what is stored in there actually, and then remembered that I did a business road trip last month, where I used my Galaxy Nexus as a navigation unit.

In case you ever wondered: This is how having a GPS bug attached to yourself looks like. I can zoom in, and most of the locations stored are pretty accurate. It doesn’t show step-by-step accuracy, and every tenth stored location seems to be off by a few hundred meters at least, if not actual kilometers.

But all in all, this is at the same time exciting and scary. #toblog

Staatstrojaner goes Underground

In der Tat — der große politische Aufreger des Herbstes, ein Vorfall der eigentlich mindestens mit der Spiegel-Affäre gleichzusetzen ist, quasi das deutsche Watergate wird anscheinend von den Verantwortlichen erfolgreich ausgesessen.

„Wir haben ja Eurokrise“.

„Die sollen sich mal nicht so haben.“

Das Problem hier ist — wie soll man als außerparlamentarische Opposition hier reagieren? Was bleibt, außer Pressearbeit und Anzeige? Was tut man, wenn andere Themen den Medien wichtiger erscheinen, es gleichzeitig aber kaum möglich scheint, die breite Bevölkerung aufzuschrecken und zu Massendemonstrationen zu bewegen?

Fefe würde wohl nach der Revolution fragen, mir fällt spontan leider auch nichts besseres ein… #toblog

earlier this year, I ordered a bunch of minicards from Moo​.com. Today, I grabbed a few out of the box to stock my wallet, and these temporary tattoos fell out of the box, entirely unnoticed previously. Instant win! #toblog

Multicopter for the win!

This is going to get interesting: Instead of scaling a normal sized copter down, these chaps have scaled the normal hobby model up. The result is a 16-propeller personal multicopter. Nifty. #toblog
