Bling, Bling

Spent the most money on a single roleplaying book EVER. The Game of Thrones Roleplaying Game in the Limited Deluxe edition.

No  idea which devil drove me to this, but at least it arrived very promptly, and indeed does look the part: Expensive quality paper, all color, very neat illustrations, leather binding, and all the extras. Really a feast for the eyes and hands.

I’m a sucker for books anyway, especially if they are produced with a certain quality, like this one. Now I will spend quite some time reading again. From what I’ve seen so far, the makers of this beauty took a lot of trouble not to make a cookie-cutter rpg book, but something delicate. Including a rather large section that lists and explains the different subgenres of Fantasy, along with a history of the genre is a good hint.

Explaining why game rules should always be rated second to having fun is a big bonus. I’ll post a more thorough review as soon as I’ve had more than a glimpse.
