Over the last weekend, I completely reinstalled my home computer. Fresh OS installation, reconfigured hard drives, some new hardware plugged in, the full monty.
The obvious advantage is that I am supposed to have once again a very thorough notion of what is installed on my computer, and what isn’t. A translation tool most certainly wasn’t part of that. Now imagine my surprise when I saw this:
I had absolutely no idea that this nifty english-german mouseover translation tool became part of my Firefox installation! Really. Not the faintest.
A closer look revealed that it’s part of the Google Toolbar, but it did need some poking at stuff of mine to find this out. Yay for useful features!
Only thing that worries me now: Are there any less wholesome features that I missed?
Flock is rumoured to be the next hip thing: A browser that has built-in RSS reading, social bookmarking and blogging.
Let’s see if it lives up to the hype. So far, I’m missing a way to import my old offline bookmarks.
